Job Purpose: Teach in the EYFS/KS1 Soft Hub

We are currently seeking a highly skilled and dedicated individual to join our team as a Soft Hub Room Leader at Academics. As a key member of our staff, you will be responsible for providing exceptional care and support to children with complex needs in our EYFS and KS1 Soft Hub.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teaching and Pastoral Support: Provide high-quality teaching and pastoral support to up to ten EYFS and KS1 children, working closely with the SENDCo to meet their individual needs.
  • Resource Planning: Plan and prepare resources for individual and/or small group activities, with a focus on multi-sensory approaches to engage and support our students.
  • Progress Monitoring: Evaluate and report back to the SENCO on the progress, achievement, and attainment of our students, ensuring that their needs are being met and that they are making progress towards their goals.
  • Transition Support: Work with children in mainstream classes to support their transition back into mainstream education, liaising closely with SENCo and mainstream teachers to ensure a smooth and successful transition.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Develop and maintain strong relationships with colleagues, parents, and carers to ensure that our students receive the best possible support and care.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • A relevant SEND qualification is essential, and a qualified teaching status is highly desirable.
  • Experience working with children with complex needs and a strong understanding of multi-sensory approaches to teaching and learning.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues, parents, and carers.
