Hertfordshire Catering Limited (HCL) is seeking a dynamic and motivated Mobile Chef Manager to oversee our various catering sites.

This role operates Monday to Friday, and at HCL, we believe our employees are our most valuable resource. We are committed to offering training and support to enhance your culinary expertise while being part of a dedicated team.

Your primary responsibility will be to manage and direct the meal service, ensuring that customers enjoy high-quality dining experiences. A thorough understanding of Health and Safety regulations, along with impeccable hygiene standards, is crucial.

Excellent communication skills are essential, as you will need to demonstrate your ability to lead and manage a team effectively.

We provide a £1,000 incentive payment (terms and conditions apply).

A valid driving license and personal vehicle are mandatory.

Relevant mileage expenses will be reimbursed.

Your responsibilities as a Mobile Chef Manager will include:

  • Possessing a valid driving license and your own transportation
  • Preparing and cooking meals, accommodating special dietary needs
  • Maintaining cleanliness in the kitchen and dining areas
  • Conducting stocktaking and ordering supplies
  • Managing budgets effectively
  • Complying with the Food Safety Management System
  • Ensuring Health & Safety standards are met
  • Providing food service to staff
  • Being proficient in IT
  • Fostering and maintaining relationships within the site
  • Inspiring and developing staff to reach their full potential

What we expect from you:

  • Possession of a valid driving license and personal vehicle
  • Leading the catering team in meal preparation, cooking, and presentation
  • Managing all staff within the catering team, ensuring effective training
  • Maintaining a comprehensive audit trail and ensuring compliance with training records
  • Planning and directing the deployment of catering resources (food, staff, equipment, and cleaning supplies) to maximize operational efficiency
  • Overseeing the financial budget to ensure cost-effectiveness while meeting customer and client needs. Handling cash responsibly and ensuring accurate financial records.
  • Creating innovative menus using fresh, high-quality ingredients and introducing new food concepts to appeal to a diverse customer base
  • Proactively marketing and promoting the catering service to enhance sales and improve food service uptake
  • Conducting recruitment, induction, on-the-job training, appraisals, and first-line discipline to motivate and develop staff
