About the Role

M&G is seeking a highly skilled Cyber Threat Analyst to join our Security Operations team. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in helping us protect our organization from cyber threats.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the development and review of analytical rules to ensure they remain effective and relevant in detecting and responding to cyber threats.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure effective service delivery and support the development of new processes and procedures.
  • Work closely with external teams, including our managed security service provider, to investigate and respond to cyber security alerts and incidents.
  • Act as a point of escalation for MSSP L1s and L2s, providing assistance and guidance as needed.
  • Identify opportunities for service improvement and suggest enhancements to improve our organization's security posture.
  • Communicate complex technical information to stakeholders, both internally and externally.
  • Support regular internal and external audits, tracking SOC activities and participating in technical sessions as required.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a Security Operations environment.
  • Exposure to Cyber Incident Response.
  • Experience with Endpoint Detection and Response tooling, including Defender for Endpoint and/or Palo Alto Cortex XDR.
  • Experience with Microsoft Sentinel, including querying logs and knowledge of analytical rules.
  • Experience with IDPS systems, including NGFW and Firepower/Sourcefire.
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure, including Azure Activity Directory, Identity Protection, and Defender for Cloud.
  • Exposure to use-case management, including fine-tuning of false positives.
  • Desirable certifications include CompTIA Security+, CySa+, ISC2 SSCP, Security Essentials, and Microsoft-specific certifications such as SC200 and AZ500.
