Key Responsibilities- Site Management: Responsible for the safe and efficient management of sites, including monitoring the implementation and control of safe working procedures.
- Risk Management: Prepare, implement, and review risk assessments and method statements to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Communication: Effective interaction and communication between management and supervision to ensure seamless project execution.
- Cost Management: Manage site plant details and proactively reduce costs where applicable to ensure commercial viability.
- Vehicle Management: Report and manage all vehicle defects for the contract in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Stakeholder Management: Build and maintain good relationships with stakeholders, including clients, and liaise with them as required.
- Inductions: Oversee depot and site inductions to ensure all personnel are properly trained and equipped.
- Health and Safety: Responsible for health and safety and environmental inspections in line with company requirements.
- Works Orders: Issue works orders and instructions to site personnel to ensure timely and efficient project execution.
- Permits: Ensure all permits to complete site operations are completed in full, briefed, and understood.
- Site Diary: Complete a daily site diary and review site daily record sheets to ensure accurate project tracking.
- Programming and Resourcing: Responsible for programming and resourcing all works for the contracts operating from all areas of operations.
- Labour and Materials Management: Organize and resource staff labour, plant, and materials to ensure effective and economical project execution.
- Cost Optimization: Minimize the cost of works through correct programming and utilization of labour, plant, materials, and sub-contractors.
- Variations: Identify variations to the contract through work records and site measurements and initiate the change management process.
- Toolbox Talks: Organize and present toolbox talks as required to ensure personnel are properly informed and trained.
- Work Records: Monitor and provide records of all items of work, including day works, and ensure accurate project tracking.
- Drawings and Instructions: Check drawings, site instructions, work orders, and contract documents for accuracy and completeness.
- Standard of Work: Monitor the standard of work of all site staff to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Material Procurement: Take off material for procurement in accordance with the contract programme.
- Material Inspection: Check materials delivered to site and report any non-conformities.
- Costing: Ensure that labour, plant, and material costings are entered onto the computerized works management system in line with the monthly commercial management process.
- Measurement: Responsible for overseeing the collection of measurement information to enable the works to be valued.
- Commercial Viability: In conjunction with the operations manager, ensure that the operations are commercially viable.
- Timesheets: Responsible for dealing with all timesheets to ensure accurate project tracking.
We are looking for an experienced Assistant Project Manager with a strong background in highways and project management. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a similar role and possess excellent communication and organizational skills.
