Tax Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled Private Client Tax Manager to join our team at Johnston Carmichael. As a key member of our Private Client Team, you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of private clients and working closely with Partners and Client Relationship Managers to deliver the objectives of the team.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide high-level technical and tax planning advice to clients, working with other members of the Tax Team, Partners, and Client Relationship Managers as necessary.
- Maintain up-to-date technical knowledge of business tax, personal tax, and capital taxes.
- Supervise and manage the personal tax return process, ensuring compliance with quality control procedures.
- Manage billing and WIP, monitoring the tax compliance position using tax administration software.
- Mentor and train Tax Seniors and Assistants, delegating work as needed.
- Liaise with the client service team and colleagues in other disciplines to provide a coordinated service to clients.
- Contribute to tax advisory and planning work on clients and other ad-hoc projects.
- Manage a diverse portfolio of personal tax clients, ensuring a high-quality tax compliance service.
- Support the firm's business development in the local area, ensuring compliance with internal and external requirements.
The successful candidate will have personal tax experience, working knowledge of other taxes, and practical experience using software systems in the preparation of personal and company tax returns. They will have qualified in CTA, CA, ATT, or equivalent, with evidence of Continuing Professional Development.
