About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Account Manager to join our team at Air Liquide UK Ltd. As an Account Manager, you will be responsible for meeting individual sales targets by value, product type, and profitability.

Key Responsibilities
  • Meet individual sales targets by value, product type, and profitability.
  • Use practical hands-on demonstration and sales skills to sell engineering and welding products, including a full suite of industrial gases, to new and existing customers.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers to understand their needs and provide solutions that meet their requirements.
  • Effect an efficient and satisfactory supply and service to customers of the company.
  • Plan and execute account planning, maximizing customer-facing time and minimizing travel.
  • Comply with company policies, particularly Health & Safety regulations.
  • Be proactive in up-selling and cross-selling the full range of product offerings.
  • Use historic data and market trends to bring innovation and new ideas to support customers' growth.
  • Take ownership of named accounts, including dealing with client issues, revenue, and product mix.
  • Be responsible for the company's assets on loan or rent to customers.
  • Be the single point of contact and become the go-to person for customers.
Requirements
  • Practical experience of welding, able to demonstrate welding equipment and consumables.
  • Able to advise end users on process and equipment selection.
  • Recognize the importance of shielding gases in the welding process and how that adds value to the customer.
  • Good standard of numeracy and literacy.
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety requirements.
  • A full, clean driving license.
  • IT literate.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Knowledge of principles and methods for showing, promoting, and selling products or services.
  • Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services.
  • Ability to consider the relative costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate one.
  • Strong communication skills, both internal and external.
  • Ability to recognize when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong.
  • Competency in relationship building and solution sales.
  • Field-based experience in a technical environment with either business development or account management experience.
  • A background in welding and/or industrial gases preferred, but a minimum of industrial B2B sales experience is required.
