About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Category Pricing Specialist to join our team at Blakemore Trade Partners. As a key member of our Pricing Team, you will be responsible for analyzing and optimizing pricing strategies across our retail business.

Key Responsibilities
  • Pricing Strategy Development: Collaborate with our trading team to develop and implement pricing strategies that drive sales and profitability.
  • Data Analysis: Utilize data from multiple sources to model the impact of proposed pricing activity, monitor price changes, and identify opportunities to increase sales and margin.
  • Competitor Pricing Analysis: Analyze competitor pricing data to provide a clear and concise overview of our current position and customer perception of price.
  • Sales and Margin Performance Analysis: Conduct ongoing analysis of sales and margin performance, using credible insights and data to make recommendations and highlight opportunities and potential problem areas.
  • Price Change Impact Analysis: Understand the impact of price changes on customer behavior, performance, and wider business metrics.
  • Promotional Activity Analysis: Analyze promotional activity in your categories, using learnings to develop and refine future activity.
  • Customer Behavior Analysis: Understand our customers' behaviors to drive consumer-led thinking and decision-making within the business.
  • Stakeholder Support: Support stakeholders across the business as the 'Go To' expert for all pricing matters in your area.
Requirements
  • Experience: Ideal candidate will have experience in a similar pricing role with experience handling and interpreting complex data sets into actionable insights.
  • Industry Knowledge: Previous experience in a retail business, multi-channel exposure is a benefit.
  • Technical Skills: Experience using Power BI is desirable, advanced user of Excel, strong analytical skillset, and commercially aware.
  • Communication Skills: Strong communicator, good problem solver, willing to look for new ways of working to improve output and overcome challenges.
