Falkirk Council is seeking to recruit two Support for Learning teachers who are highly skilled practitioners and committed to delivering exceptional learning and teaching experiences for our children and young people.

The key policy document for Falkirk schools is Learning to Achieve, a collaborative effort between headteachers, teachers, early years practitioners, support staff, parents, and other partners.

This policy outlines our expectations for class teachers, including:

  • Reflecting critically on their practice to ensure the best possible outcomes for all learners.
  • Proactively seeking professional development opportunities to enhance their skills and knowledge.
  • Adopting flexible and creative approaches to meet the diverse needs of all learners.
  • Utilizing current educational thinking to inform their practice and drive student success.
  • Maintaining effective communication with colleagues and stakeholders.

Successful applicants will:

  • Hold a relevant primary qualification.
  • Be fully registered with the General Teaching Council, Scotland (GTCS).
  • Demonstrate a commitment to the Standard for Full Registration.

Applicants who progress to the next stage of the recruitment process will be invited to participate in:

  • Classroom observations.
  • A short interview.

This is a temporary position, working 21 hours per week, until further notice due to service requirements.

Successful candidates will be required to maintain a valid PVG scheme membership.
