Job Title: Principal Safety Engineer

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Safety Engineer to join our team at BAE Systems. As a key member of our Safety and Environmental team, you will be responsible for providing expert advice on product safety matters to project and engineering managers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement safety strategies to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and mitigate safety risks
  • Conduct safety analyses and develop safety management documentation
  • Line manage a team of safety practitioners

Requirements:

Essential:

  • Degree level qualification in a relevant STEM subject
  • Broad knowledge of industry safety standards
  • Demonstrable experience in safety engineering activities in the defence or maritime domain

Desirable:

  • Good communication skills and ability to interact with stakeholders
