Job Title: Principal Engineer - Product Safety

Location: Flexible working arrangements available

Salary: Circa £55,000

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Engineer - Product Safety to join our team. As a key member of our Product Safety Team, you will be responsible for the governance of safety analysis and assessment activities, assuring process approvals, and providing feedback and constructive criticism on problematic areas.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Lead the development and implementation of safety analysis and assessment activities
  2. Assure process approvals and provide feedback on problematic areas
  3. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure adherence to safety policies
  4. Develop and maintain safety documentation and procedures
  5. Provide training and education to colleagues on safety policies and procedures

Requirements:

  1. Chartered Engineer or equivalent experience
  2. Experience in Industrial Controls Systems
  3. TUV Functional Safety Expert
  4. Experience in both software and hardware
  5. IEC 61508 or IEC 61511

Desirable:

  1. Strong knowledge of Cyber Safety
  2. Understanding of Defence Standards
  3. Previous experience with the Defence Industry
  4. Submarine Engineering experience
