Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and compassionate Relief Personal Assistant to provide essential support to a visually impaired individual residing in the Canton area. This role offers the opportunity to make a real difference in someone's life while gaining valuable experience in a rewarding field.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough and mindful cleaning of a 3-bedroom mid-terrace house, ensuring a hygienic and comfortable living environment.
- Assist with household tasks such as checking food items for freshness, inspecting clothing for stains or wear and tear, and reporting on general maintenance needs.
- Communicate effectively and provide clear, detailed feedback regarding observations and findings related to the home and its surroundings.
Requirements
- Excellent written and spoken English skills are essential for clear communication.
- Exceptional descriptive and communication abilities, including a keen eye for detail regarding color, fabrics, and the functionality of household items.
- Strong spatial awareness and an understanding of design principles.
- Reliability and punctuality are crucial for providing consistent support.
- Self-employed status is required.
As a Self-Employed Personal Assistant, you will be responsible for:
- Providing the service user with a Unique Tax Reference (UTR) issued by HMRC on HMRC headed paper stating your self-employed status.
- Arranging your own insurance coverage to protect against public liability and, if necessary, employer's liability.
- Establishing a mutually agreed contract outlining service details, including payment terms, holiday arrangements, and sickness policies.
- Issuing invoices to the service user, quoting your HMRC registration number for each service provided.
- Managing your own tax, national insurance, and financial records.
- Providing your own equipment unless otherwise specified in a contract agreement.
- Arranging for alternative support if you are unable to fulfill the service yourself.
- Obtaining a DBS check and providing evidence of this to the service user.
