About the Role

We are seeking a reliable and trustworthy Relief Personal Assistant to support a visually impaired individual in their daily life.

The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting with general admin, browsing and ordering online, and escorting to events and meetings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with reading correspondence and general admin tasks
  • Browse and order online, including clothes and household shopping
  • Escort to events and meetings

Requirements

  • Excellent command of written and spoken English
  • Excellent descriptive and communication skills
  • Good spatial awareness and understanding of colour, style, and design
  • Reliable and punctual
  • Flexible about working hours
  • Willing to guide and describe in public places
  • Hold a clean driving licence and have access to a car
  • Be registered as self-employed

As a Relief Personal Assistant, you will be responsible for

  • Providing the service user with a Unique Tax Reference (UTR) issued by HMRC
  • Arranging your own insurance cover
  • Providing a contract/cost of service/holiday & sickness arrangements
  • Providing invoices quoting your HMRC registration number
  • Arranging your own tax, national insurance, and general accounts
  • Providing your own equipment
  • Providing other workers to support the service user if needed
  • Arranging your own DBS check and providing evidence to the service user
