About the Role

We are seeking a reliable and trustworthy Relief Personal Assistant to provide support with daily tasks and activities for a visually impaired individual living in the Canton area of Cardiff.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with reading correspondence and general admin in the home
  • Browse and order from the internet, clothes and household shopping both locally and across Cardiff
  • Escort to some events/meetings

Requirements

  • Excellent command of written and spoken English
  • Excellent descriptive and communication skills
  • Good spatial awareness and ability to observe the environment
  • Reliable and punctual
  • Flexible about working hours
  • Willing to guide and describe in public places
  • Hold a clean driving licence and have access to a car
  • Be registered as self-employed

As a Self-Employed PA

  • Provide a Unique Tax Reference (UTR) issued by HMRC
  • Arrange own insurance cover for public liability and employer's liability
  • Provide a contract/cost of service/holiday & sickness arrangements
  • Provide invoices quoting HMRC registration number
  • Arrange own tax, national insurance and general accounts
  • Provide own equipment (unless agreed otherwise)
  • Provide other workers to support the service user if unable to provide the service
  • Arrange own DBS check and provide evidence to the service user
