Key Responsibilities include:

Collaborating as a vital member of the physiotherapy team to evaluate needs and implement high-quality physiotherapy programs for pediatric patients across various settings.
This necessitates a broad understanding of pediatric physiotherapy practices to provide specialized, responsive treatment aimed at enhancing mobility, independence, and preventing disability.
Engaging in a structured mentorship program that includes rotations through specialized clinics, gaining further expertise in areas such as developmental conditions, neurological rehabilitation, and musculoskeletal disorders.

Main Duties of the Role

The physiotherapy team is looking for a dedicated and proactive Band 7 Pediatric Physiotherapist with exceptional clinical and communication skills.

Candidates should possess knowledge across a wide spectrum of pediatric physiotherapy, along with a strong desire for continuous learning and professional development. A readiness to seek guidance and collaborate is essential. In return, you will be embraced as a key member of a forward-thinking and supportive physiotherapy team. You will assess needs and deliver quality physiotherapy programs to pediatric patients in various environments, including outpatient clinics and home visits. Comprehensive mentorship and support will be provided throughout your onboarding process, which includes rotations into specialized clinics focusing on developmental disorders, neurological rehabilitation, and musculoskeletal conditions. All staff are encouraged to engage in service innovation, continuing professional development (CPD) activities, and further educational opportunities.

Detailed Job Description and Main Responsibilities

To assess, diagnose, formulate treatment plans, and provide effective physiotherapy interventions, utilizing a problem-solving approach based on clinical needs and evidence-based practices. This often involves working with pediatric patients who have complex medical conditions.

To provide early intervention whenever feasible to facilitate long-term benefits.

To adhere to a philosophy of care that emphasizes patient empowerment and independence by delivering education and resources to help patients manage their own health needs. This includes conducting educational sessions for new and existing patients.

To offer services across a diverse range of locations, including patients' homes, clinics, and community health facilities, often in challenging circumstances, and frequently working independently. The post holder will be expected to collaborate within a multidisciplinary team when necessary and serve as a resource for patients, caregivers, and other healthcare professionals.

To manage clinical risks within the assigned patient caseload, seeking guidance as appropriate.

To ensure informed consent is obtained prior to initiating treatment plans.

To maintain comprehensive and accurate patient records, updating medical histories, evaluating progress, and collaborating with clients to refine their treatment plans as needed.

To participate in specialized clinical rotations, acquiring in-depth knowledge and experience in advanced areas of pediatric physiotherapy practice. Working closely with a mentor to achieve professional development goals.

To actively engage in clinical supervision and utilize reflective practice to ensure quality care for all service users.

To provide guidance and support to junior physiotherapy staff.

Qualifications

Essential Criteria

BSc in Physiotherapy or equivalent HCPC Registered Physiotherapist Valid UK driving license with access to a vehicle for work purposes
