Our Water and Waste business unit is a global leader in designing and supplying innovative wet and dry waste equipment and freshwater generation solutions for passenger vessels & conventional waste management and ballast water treatment equipment for all marine segments. We have a unique opportunity for a Sourcing Manager to join our team in the UK, Poole, Dorset.

As the Sourcing Manager, you will be responsible for the strategic management of our WAW supply base, allowing our tactical purchasing teams to operate effectively and seamlessly. You will manage the development of a forward-looking project roadmap focused on BOM cost, quality, lead time reduction, and delivery improvements.

The Sourcing Manager will champion supply chain improvement processes, working with the supply base and internal customers, including but not limited to the site supply chain team, purchasing, engineering, quality, and material control.

  1. Ensure 80% of spend is under contract.
  2. Primary responsibility within WAW to negotiate pricing and to ensure pricing is maintained effectively within SAP.
  3. Work with Supply Chain Director to improve supplier performance, specifically lead time reduction and OTD improvement.
  4. Work with Quality Manager and SQE's to ensure purchased parts meet quality requirements as per drawings/tolerances etc.
  5. Work with R&D and Project teams to identify new or alternative suppliers.
  6. Support business transformation projects.
  7. Identification and implementation of collaborative goals and opportunities to include but not limited to Inventory reduction and management, cost saving projects, supplier quality and OTD improvement.
  8. Establish key long-term relationships with strategic suppliers that will deliver sustainable added value to business operations, implementation of supplier management and improvement processes where required.

Requirements:

  1. Degree equivalent in engineering, supply chain, operations, materials or business-related field.
  2. At least 5 years of proven success in negotiating with suppliers directly for large and small value expenditures and constructing such a negotiation in a formal contract.
  3. Demonstrated results in attaining year-over-year price reduction, cost savings, delivery and quality improvements in the business area supported.
  4. Demonstrated success in cost improvement projects for supplier quality and delivery.
  5. Strong project management and matrix organization collaboration skills are a must.
  6. Understands Supplier Quality Management and Auditing.
  7. Strong negotiation skills and contract management.
  8. Transition management experience of product from one source to another is required.
  9. Willingness to Travel up to 25% of the time.

Self-Directed: Successful candidate can work in a location without direct, daily on-site supervision. Effective time management and prioritization of activities are needed.

Prioritization and Planning: Successful candidate effectively manages multiple tasks to complete complex projects. They are organized and efficient, and able to define objectives, sequence, timeline, budget, interdependencies and contingencies for projects or initiatives, maximizing time and resources and overcoming obstacles.
