About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and motivated MSK Clinician to join our Specialist Musculoskeletal team as a Clinical Specialist Development Post. This role will support the development of a Band 8 Clinical Specialist role, focusing on hands and elbows.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work as an integral part of the Specialist Musculoskeletal Service, developing comprehensive assessments, triage, and management of patients with MSK hand and elbow conditions.
  • Develop from a Band 7 to a Band 8a Musculoskeletal Clinical Specialist Hand and Elbow Specialist.
  • Support the MSK service with effective triaging of referrals into the MSK Service.
  • Liaise with other team members to identify client-centred needs and ensure progress through the appropriate care pathway.
  • Ensure a high standard of clinical care for patients under management, supporting and facilitating more junior staff to do likewise.

Person Specification
  • BSc Hons Physiotherapy or equivalent.
  • Health Professions Council Registration.
  • Evidence of Postgraduate study to M level.
  • Evidence of postgraduate courses/CPD.
  • Significant relevant postgraduate MSK experience with some experience at senior level.
  • Evidence of continuing professional development portfolio.
  • Previous NHS Experience.
  • Experience of audit and service development.
  • Experience of working closely with other health professionals.
