About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled DevOps Platform Engineer to join our specialist security team at BT Security. As a trusted partner to governments worldwide, we protect critical national infrastructure and commit to the safety and security of our nation and global communities.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Incident Response: Respond to issues raised by automated dashboards, users, or proactive monitoring routines, ensuring system availability and resolving faults quickly and effectively.
  2. Reporting and Documentation: Collate issues and write reports for wider audiences, updating support documentation and providing training to 1st line teams.
  3. Hardware Installation: Own hardware installation at our data centres, ensuring smooth operations.
Requirements
  1. Software and Systems Delivery: Experience in software and systems delivery methodologies, processes, and tools.
  2. Linux and Networking: Knowledge of Linux based operating systems and Cisco networking (ASA firewalls), with skills in network issue debugging.
  3. Automation and Deployment: Practical experience of diagnosing and fixing issues in a production system, with knowledge of automation tools like kickstart, ansible, and puppet.
  4. Programming and Scripting: Skills in a programming language (Python) and/or scripting language (Bash).
