Energy Market Analytics - Gas Analytics

Main Responsibilities

Your role will focus on gas market analysis and the development of trading ideas to support the gas trading desk. Key responsibilities include:
  • Collaborating with gas analysts, data engineers, and traders to enhance EDFT's proprietary gas market models, ensuring a current and thorough understanding of European and global gas balances.
  • Generating trading ideas based on fundamental analysis and market insights.
  • Maintaining a high standard of quantitative rigor in your analyses and consistently monitoring the accuracy of analytical outputs.
  • Creating tools to track market trends and implied gas balances.
  • Effectively conveying insights and findings to gas traders, analysts, and management.
  • Exhibiting flexibility and adaptability to evolving conditions, as responsibilities may shift over time.
Experience Required
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in a gas analytics position.
  • Proficiency in statistical analysis and various quantitative methodologies.
Technical Requirements
  • An advanced degree in engineering, sciences, mathematics, finance, or economics, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Strong proficiency in Python for data analytics, with familiarity in other commonly used programs such as Excel and SQL being advantageous.
Personal Attributes
  • Commercially aware and proactive in driving positive change.
  • Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent communication skills and confident presentation abilities.
  • Highly numerate and analytical.
Working Hours:

40 hours per week, Monday to Friday
