About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Gas Market Analyst to join our team at E1 EDF Trading Ltd.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to gas market analysis and generate trade ideas to support gas trading by the EDFT gas desk, focusing on quantitative analysis of the gas market.
  • Work closely with gas analysts, data engineers, and traders to maintain and develop proprietary gas market models, providing an up-to-date view on European and global gas balances.
  • Develop trading ideas based on analysis of fundamentals and market information.
  • Maintain high quantitative rigor in analysis and monitor accuracy of analytical output.
  • Develop tools to monitor market developments and implied gas balances.
  • Effectively communicate views and findings to traders and analysts.

Requirements

  • At least 2 years of experience in a gas analytics role.
  • Knowledge of statistical analysis and other quantitative techniques.
  • Advanced degree in engineering, sciences, math, finance, or economics, or equivalent experience.
  • Proficient in Python for data analytics, with knowledge of Excel and SQL.

  • Good communication skills and confident presenter.
  • Highly numerate.

Working Hours

40 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
