Study Skills Support Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Study Skills Support Specialist to join our team at Randstad. As a Study Skills Support Specialist, you will work closely with students who have specific learning difficulties (SpLDs) studying at Universities and/or Colleges in Lancaster.
About the Role:This is a hybrid role that requires flexibility to work both in-person and online. You will be responsible for providing personalised academic support and guidance to students, developing customised learning plans to meet their specific needs, and fostering their independence in learning.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop independence in students
- Build on strengths and learning strategies
- Create strategies around organisation and time management
- Create action plans to stay on track with studies
- Build on research skills - widening knowledge by using a variety of sources
- Distinguish appropriate sources and how to correctly use references
- Build on comprehension skills within reading and writing
To be successful in this role, you must hold membership with one of the following professional bodies:
- British Dyslexia Association (BDA)
- Professional Membership The Association of Dyslexia (ADSHE)
- Dyslexia Guild
- The Professional Association of Teachers of Students with Specific Learning Difficulties (PATOSS)
- Experience of working with clients with specific learning difficulties
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to identify ways of helping students to build on their learning strengths whilst maintaining a confidential and professional working relationship
- Punctuality and reliability
- Good organisational skills
- Ability to manage a caseload of students
