Job Title: Cost Accountant

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Cost Accountant to join our team in Chelmsford, supporting four Business Units within Teledyne UK Ltd. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining financial integrity of inventory accounts, periodic processing of financial inventory transactions and account reconciliations, and coordination of standard cost accounting processes and updates.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date inventory records
  • Process financial inventory transactions and reconcile accounts
  • Coordinate standard cost accounting processes and updates
  • Support physical inventory counts and ensure accurate inventory levels
  • Work closely with purchasing, planning, and logistics teams to optimize inventory levels
  • Ensure compliance with financial controls and procedures set by the Group
  • Develop effective relationships with key stakeholders across all levels and functions of Teledyne-e2v
  • Contribute to the wider Teledyne UK Finance team

Requirements:

  • Qualified Accountant
  • Minimum four years experience of inventory accounting
  • Experience of an ERP system - preferably SAP
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing and standard costing environment an advantage
  • Strong excel and analysis skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Proactive and 'can do' approach to work
  • Team player who embraces change and possesses a continuous improvement mind-set
  • Ability to work autonomously in the company
  • SC Security Clearance Required
