Railway Technician

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Railway Technician to join our team at Network Rail. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our rail network.
Key Responsibilities- Work as part of a team to maintain and repair the electrified rail network, ensuring power is flowing safely and efficiently.
- Specialize in Distribution and Plant, working on the nuts, bolts, and cables of the electrification system.
- Work outdoors in all conditions, at all times of the year, day or night, and be comfortable with demanding manual work and transporting kit across tricky terrain.
- Be safety-focused, respectful of rules, and a team player, with the ability to lead the team when asked by the team leader.
- Use your skills to deliver work safely, check the team has the right competencies to meet our strict safety standards, and be a role model for safe working behaviours.
- Leadership skills, with the ability to lead, motivate, and direct a team for safe and efficient work delivery.
- Effective communication skills, with the ability to deliver clear instructions to the team and other colleagues.
- Technical skills, with knowledge and experience of inspection, faulting, maintenance, and renewal techniques in the discipline.
- Safety skills, with the ability to consistently role model safe behaviours, arrange and implement safe systems of work, and challenge if you think a situation is unsafe.
- Problem-solving skills, with the ability to find safe and effective solutions and develop your skills and competencies relevant to your discipline.
- Relevant qualification, ideally an NVQ Level 1 or 2 linked to the discipline, or equivalent level of relevant experience.
