Indirect Procurement Analyst

An accomplished professional in Indirect Procurement is sought for a dynamic engineering organization. The selected individual will play a pivotal role in minimizing indirect expenditures while overseeing inventory management to guarantee timely procurement of indirect goods and services.
Eligibility Criteria:
Applicants must possess the right to work in the UK.
Core Responsibilities:
- Manage competitive bidding processes for indirect procurement requests, which may arise from various departments or through capital expenditure documentation, ensuring optimal value for the organization.
- Formulate, negotiate, and oversee significant contracts with suppliers to secure the best overall pricing and service quality.
- Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives related to indirect spending, leading projects from inception to completion while engaging all relevant stakeholders.
- Establish and nurture robust relationships with key indirect suppliers.
- Assess and explore potential new suppliers and dual sourcing opportunities.
- Identify avenues for reducing indirect inventory and execute effective strategies to achieve these reductions.
- Ensure adherence to sourcing and contracting policies, risk management protocols, and ethical standards.
- Recognize potential risks within contracts and devise strategies to mitigate them.
- Compile regular reports detailing contract status, performance metrics, and savings realized.
- Evaluate and recommend optimal business solutions and trade-offs.
- Assist the Direct Purchasing Manager as needed and provide coverage in their absence.
- Support the Head of Purchasing in enhancing the Purchasing strategy and its implementation.
- Oversee the on-site integrated supplier, managing the team, monitoring service levels, and driving cost-saving initiatives.
Required Qualifications and Skills:
- Demonstrated experience in Indirect Procurement within a Manufacturing or Engineering context.
- A Bachelor's Degree or higher in Business Management, Supply Chain Management, Economics, Law, or a related field.
- CIPS Level 5 certification or above.
- Proficiency in drafting and negotiating contracts.
- Experience in leading complex, cross-functional projects.
- Strong business acumen and understanding of UK contract law and procurement regulations.
- Comprehensive knowledge of ABC XYZ classification and practical management of optimization strategies.
- Familiarity with capital expenditure budgeting and approval processes.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a proactive and analytical mindset.
- Able to cultivate strong relationships internally and externally, coupled with exceptional negotiation skills.
- Proficient in Excel and SAP.
- Self-motivated, organized, and detail-oriented.
