Capula seeks a highly accomplished Event Driven Analyst to join our London-based team.

This role offers the opportunity to work closely with a seasoned portfolio manager, contributing to a global event-driven investment strategy.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct in-depth research on companies undergoing significant corporate events such as mergers and acquisitions, spin-offs, and restructurings.
  • Perform comprehensive valuation analyses utilizing strong M&A, corporate finance, and company valuation expertise.
  • Analyze offer documents, merger agreements, and other regulatory filings with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Monitor and analyze news flow related to the investment portfolio and the broader event-driven market landscape.
  • Collaborate on calls and meetings with companies, bankers, lawyers, and brokers to gather critical information.
  • Assist in data collection, research, and ongoing updates for companies within the portfolio.
  • Monitor trade execution and contribute to the optimization of funding and margins for the investment book.
  • Work closely with middle office, risk management, and business development teams at Capula, as well as prime brokers, to ensure seamless trade execution and structuring.

Requirements:

  • 2-3 years of relevant experience in an investment bank (ideally within M&A) or a hedge fund (with a focus on event-driven strategies).
  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in Economics, Finance, Accounting, Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in coding languages, particularly Python, is highly desirable.
  • Solid understanding of corporate finance principles, M&A transactions, and accounting practices.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently, generate innovative ideas, and contribute effectively within a dynamic team environment.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a commitment to delivering high-quality results.
