We are seeking a highly accomplished and motivated professional to join our team at Capula, a global event driven book. The ideal candidate will be based in one of our offices in London, New York, Tokyo, Hong Kong or Singapore, and will work closely with our London-based portfolio manager.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct in-depth research on companies undergoing significant corporate events, such as mergers and acquisitions, spin-offs, and break-ups.
  • Perform extensive valuation work, requiring a strong understanding of corporate finance, M&A, and company valuations.
  • Analyze offer documents, merger agreements, and other filings to inform investment decisions.
  • Monitor and analyze news flow related to the book and the event driven space.
  • Assist with calls and meetings with companies, bankers, lawyers, and brokers to gather information and update our knowledge.
  • Help gather data, research, and update information related to names in the book.
  • Monitor and book trades, working closely with our middle office, risk, and business management teams.

Requirements:

  • 2-3 years of experience in an investment bank (ideally in M&A) or a hedge fund (ideally focusing on event-driven strategies).
  • A Bachelor's Degree or higher in Economics, Finance, Accounting, Computer Science, Maths, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in coding, preferably in Python.
  • Strong understanding of corporate finance, M&A, and accounting principles.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a small, dynamic team.
  • Willingness to work beyond standard working hours.
  • Foreign language skills are a plus.
