About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Investment Analyst to join our Private Markets Group at USS Investment Management Limited. As a trusted member of our team, you will play a key role in supporting the origination, due diligence, and transaction execution of private equity, infrastructure, and private credit investments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Contribute to the origination of investment opportunities across various themes and sectors, conducting targeted research and analysis to identify potential targets.
  • Liaise with potential targets and monitor existing investee companies and investment managers to ensure alignment with our investment strategy.
  • Support the preparation of meetings with management teams and key stakeholders, including the development of due diligence materials and investment memoranda.
  • Assist in the investment due diligence process, including quantitative modeling and qualitative analysis of investment and divestment opportunities.
  • Support the legal workstreams, including transaction documentation and coordination with external advisors.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including responsible investment, tax, investment legal, operational due diligence, risk, and compliance teams.
Requirements
  • Post-graduation experience in financial services, ideally in an investment or advisory context, such as investment management, investment banking, corporate finance, accounting, ratings agency, law, or consulting.
  • Prior exposure to infrastructure and/or private equity investments.
  • Critical thinking and analytical skills, with the ability to apply financial analysis and modeling techniques to company valuation and financial analysis.
  • Strong cash flow modeling skills, including experience with LBO and/or DCF modeling.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to develop internal and external relationships.
  • A strong team player, contributing to a supportive and collaborative working environment.
  • Good work ethic and a self-starter, with a desire to learn and develop.
  • Ability to work in the UK, with occasional travel to Europe, US, and Australia.
