Position Overview: As a vital member of our UK EPC delivery team, you will leverage your expertise in overseeing the execution of projects tailored for Transmission Network Owners. Your initial focus will be on substation projects within the UK.

Key Responsibilities:

Technical Duties:

  • Ensure adherence to safety and CDM compliance across all EPC projects in your portfolio.
  • Oversee and coordinate the execution of EPC Transmission projects.
  • Act as the main liaison with clients for the projects under your management.
  • Manage the profit and loss for individual projects, ensuring timely completion and maintaining professional relationships with clients, subcontractors, and stakeholders.
  • Assist in preparing EPC proposals and presentations.
  • Provide comprehensive project management from inception to completion, including collaboration with engineering and procurement support teams. Lead value engineering and constructability assessments, while offering construction management oversight.
  • Drive project timelines, manage project scope, and control costs in collaboration with the project controls and commercial teams.
  • Manage project resources and advise on subcontractor and supply chain selection in conjunction with senior management.
  • Support the internal risk review and approval processes.
  • Develop project execution plans and related contract documents.
  • Ensure deliverables meet client satisfaction.
  • Provide regular updates on project progress, including cost, schedule, procurement, safety, environmental concerns, risks, and other pertinent issues.

Functional Duties:

  • Report to Senior Project Managers or Contract/Framework Managers in the UK.
  • Lead and manage all project execution aspects within your portfolio.
  • Contribute to building a top-tier project management capability and assist in recruiting project staff as the business expands.
  • Collaborate with partners and the engineering team to develop technical solutions during the bidding phase.
  • Engage professionally with clients and colleagues to achieve project goals.
  • Effectively manage multiple projects and navigate conflicting deadlines.
  • Demonstrate flexibility to meet the demands of a rapidly evolving business environment.
  • Work independently and as part of a collaborative project team.
  • Commit to personal professional development and participate in industry groups.
  • Mentor team members to foster growth and development.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited institution or equivalent experience.
  • A minimum of 7 years of experience in transmission projects, with at least 4 years in substation project management.
  • Relevant professional qualifications or accreditations.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, along with strong stakeholder management abilities.
  • Robust analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Willingness to travel as needed.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Membership in a relevant industry body, such as The IET or ICE, is preferred.
