Position Overview:
This position is integral to our EPC delivery team, focusing on the management of project execution for Transmission Network Owners. The role will primarily involve overseeing substation projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Technical Duties:
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and CDM standards for all EPC projects in your portfolio.
- Oversee and coordinate all phases of project execution for EPC Transmission initiatives.
- Act as the main liaison with clients for the projects under your management.
- Accountable for the financial performance of individual projects, ensuring timely completion and maintaining professional relationships with clients, subcontractors, and stakeholders.
- Assist in the development of EPC proposals and presentations.
- Manage EPC projects from inception to completion, coordinating with engineering and procurement support teams. This includes leading value engineering and constructability assessments.
- Drive project timelines, manage project scope, and oversee cost control in collaboration with the project controls and commercial teams.
- Guide project resource allocation and provide advice on subcontractor and supply chain selection.
- Support the internal risk assessment and approval processes.
- Develop project execution strategies and related contractual documents.
- Ensure that deliverables meet client expectations.
- Provide regular updates on project progress, including cost, schedule, procurement, safety, environmental considerations, risks, and other pertinent issues.
Functional Duties:
- Report to Senior Project Managers or Contract Managers.
- Lead and manage all aspects of project execution within your portfolio.
- Contribute to building a top-tier project management capability and assist in recruiting project personnel as the business expands.
- Collaborate with partners and the engineering team to develop technical solutions during the bidding phase.
- Engage professionally with clients and colleagues to achieve project goals.
- Effectively manage multiple projects and prioritize conflicting deadlines.
- Demonstrate flexibility to adapt to the needs of a growing organization.
- Work independently as well as collaboratively within a project team.
- Commit to personal professional development and participation in industry groups.
- Mentor team members to foster growth and development.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited institution, or equivalent experience.
- A minimum of 7 years of experience in transmission projects, with at least 4 years in substation project management.
- Relevant professional qualifications or accreditations.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, along with strong stakeholder management abilities.
- Proficient analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Willingness to travel as required.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
- Membership in a relevant professional organization is preferred.
