Yottar is a pioneering startup dedicated to harnessing the power of machine learning to accelerate the transition to net zero electricity. Our mission is to address the most strategic uses of machine learning to drive this critical transition.

Our Challenge

Grid congestion has emerged as the single biggest bottleneck to the development of zero-emission energy systems. Energy asset developers, including solar farm developers, battery storage, EV charging, and commercial and industrial demand developers, are struggling to obtain grid connections that don't require expensive upgrades, resulting in lengthy project delays.

Our Solution

Our platform will provide optimized recommendations for energy asset developers on where to site and how to design assets according to what is possible on the grid. This will enable them to make informed decisions and avoid costly delays.

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Data Scientist to join our foundational team. As a Data Science Director, you will play a leading role in building and shaping our platform and team. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the development of robust data pipelines
  • Recruiting, managing, and leading an elite team of data scientists
  • Delivering core data elements of the Yottar platform
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • ~4+ years of professional experience as a data scientist, with some experience in the energy sector (experience working on electricity networks is ideal but not required)
  • ~Degree in computer science or a similar technical subject
  • Passion for using your skills to accelerate the transition to net zero
