Senior Data Scientist

About Digital Waffle

Digital Waffle is a pioneering technology company that has been making significant strides in the industry with its innovative products. As a result, the company has expanded its teams across various departments, and we are now looking for a talented Senior Data Scientist to join our team.

This is an exceptional opportunity for a skilled data scientist to take ownership of our cutting-edge ReflectAI technology and collaborate closely with our Chief Product Officer and Head of Engineering to drive its development. The successful candidate will have the freedom to be creative and contribute to the growth of the company's data science team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of our ReflectAI technology, working closely with the CPO and Head of Engineering to drive its growth and adoption.
  • Utilize MediaPipe and MoveNet to leverage pose estimation coordinates and develop algorithms to accurately calculate metrics such as total reps, rep progress, rep speed, and form quality.
  • Develop and implement algorithms for real-time data processing and analysis, leveraging expertise in linear algebra, geometry, and basic calculus.
  • Collaborate with the data science team to expand our capabilities and drive business growth.
  • Develop and maintain a strong understanding of probability and statistical analysis, and apply this knowledge to drive data-driven decision-making.
  • Work closely with the engineering team to ensure seamless integration of data science solutions into our products.
  • Develop and maintain a strong understanding of project management tools, such as JIRA, and apply this knowledge to drive project success.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in machine learning and pose estimation, and apply this knowledge to drive innovation in our products.


Requirements

  • Extensive experience as a data scientist in a startup or high-growth environment.
  • Strong foundation in linear algebra, geometry, and basic calculus.
  • Good understanding of probability and statistical analysis.
  • Proficiency in using JIRA or other project management tools.
  • Familiarity with basic coding in Kotlin or Java.
  • Experience using MediaPipe, MoveNet, or other similar machine learning models, ideally pose estimation.
  • Experience with feature extraction from time-series or sequential data.
  • Outstanding communication abilities, particularly in effectively and clearly explaining technical concepts to non-technical individuals and in writing detailed project documentation.
  • Experience coding in Kotlin.
  • Passion for fitness, ideally with experience building fitness products and working out.
