Position Overview

Role: Community Adult Consultant Psychiatrist

Department: Mental Health & Wellness Team

Location: East Region

Salary Information:

Annual Salary: £99,000 - £131,000 (Pro-rata)

Contract Type: Permanent

Working Hours: Full-time: 10 Programmed Activities (DCC:SPA)

On-Call Duties: Frequency 1:50; Category A - 3% on-call supplement

Qualifications Required:

  • Full GMC registration with a license to practice
  • CCT or equivalent qualification
  • Section 12 Approval or eligibility for it
  • Approved Clinician status, or eligibility for it
  • Inclusion in, or eligibility for inclusion in the Specialist Register or within 6 months of obtaining CCST

Key Responsibilities:

To excel in this role, you will be expected to:

  • Collaborate within multidisciplinary teams to provide care for adults with mental health needs.
  • Offer senior medical guidance and support to the team.
  • Engage directly with adults and their families, coordinating with external mental health providers and acute care facilities as necessary.
  • Participate in the on-call rota, currently set at a frequency of 1:50, with a 3% on-call supplement.
  • Support colleagues and team leaders while fostering a collaborative environment.
  • Work alongside fellow Adult Consultant Psychiatrists and trainees.
  • Commit to cooperative efforts, actively engaging with other health and social care professionals.
