Join Our Team as a Water Efficiency Project Advisor

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Water Efficiency Project Advisor to join our Water Resources team at South West Water. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in delivering and coordinating water efficiency initiatives that drive sustainability and reduce water consumption.

About the Role

As a Water Efficiency Project Advisor, you will be responsible for:

  • Developing and implementing water efficiency strategies, goals, and objectives in line with Pennon Group sustainability goals and regulatory standards.
  • Supporting the planning, execution, and monitoring of water efficiency programs and projects aimed at reducing water consumption and promoting sustainable practices.
  • Conducting assessments to identify opportunities for water conservation and efficiency improvements across operations, facilities, and processes.
  • Designing water usage data capture improvements and overseeing their delivery, working collaboratively with the Modelling Data and Systems team to ensure timely delivery.
  • Collaborating with the MDS Team to scope and oversee the collection, analysis, and evaluation of water usage data to track performance against established targets and identify areas for improvement.
  • Delivering in a manner that complies with regulatory requirements and reporting obligations, including maintaining accurate records and documentation as necessary.
  • Assisting in the development and management of budgets for water efficiency programs and projects, ensuring resources are allocated effectively and aligned with SWWBB priorities and financial objectives.
  • Coordinating and collaborating with internal teams, external partners, and stakeholders to support the successful implementation of water efficiency initiatives.
  • Assisting in evaluating opportunities to integrate new technologies or upgrades to existing systems to optimize water use and reduce waste.
  • Monitoring industry best practices and UK policies related to water efficiency and water resources, providing support in staying informed on relevant developments.
What We're Looking For

We're seeking a candidate with:

  • A scientific or environmental degree.
  • Experience in water resources management, environmental conservation, sustainability, or a related field.
  • Experience in planning, implementing, and managing water efficiency initiatives, projects, or programs.
  • Understanding of water management principles, water conservation techniques, and sustainable practices.
  • Ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
  • The ability to prioritize work in accordance with changing demands and manage multiple projects while taking ownership of tasks.
  • Strong attention to detail and good communication skills, both oral and written.
