Team Overview and Role Description

The Customer Excellence team at Ocado Retail is dedicated to driving the company's growth objectives by managing customer orders while prioritizing customer satisfaction.

This position demands effective self-management and the ability to deliver across various projects and initiatives. The successful candidate will coordinate trading activities across different business functions, analyze performance metrics, and assist in formulating commercial strategies aimed at enhancing customer experiences and driving growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate closely with colleagues from Ocado Retail and Ocado Logistics, focusing on short-term demand forecasting and planning to ensure customer slot availability and optimize marketing expenditures.
  • Monitor and contribute to short-term sales forecasts, working alongside analysts to assess customer behavior and relevant internal and external influences.
  • Engage with teams across Customer Performance, Brand Marketing, Merchandising, and Trading to ensure that key marketing channels achieve their customer order targets.
  • Develop and execute project plans for upcoming trading periods and seasonal events, such as holiday trading.
  • Oversee the transformation of Ocado delivery offerings, managing project timelines, stakeholder engagement, and risk assessment.
  • Analyze and interpret detailed reports and research to track sales performance against targets, propose actionable insights, and identify new growth opportunities.
  • Provide line management for junior team members, including the creation of training materials and onboarding programs.

Candidate Profile

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in e-commerce, retail, FMCG, or similar growth-oriented sectors, preferably in customer-focused or strategic roles.
  • Proficient in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong numerical skills with a solid foundation in analytical thinking.
  • Curious about customer motivations and behaviors, with the ability to balance customer experience with commercial objectives.
  • A proactive self-starter capable of multitasking, prioritizing effectively, and developing clear, realistic plans with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, ensuring stakeholders are kept informed.
  • A collaborative team player, eager to contribute and assist as needed.
