The Information Systems Team

Our Information Systems (IS) team plays a vital role in ensuring the seamless operation of all technology infrastructure within Shoosmiths. We are dedicated to providing robust and efficient technology services that support our firm's operations and drive innovation.

The IS team is comprised of two key departments: Applications and Technical Services. The Applications department focuses on developing, maintaining, and supporting the software applications essential to our legal practice. Meanwhile, the Technical Services department manages the firm's computer architecture, providing operational support, resolving hardware and software issues, and configuring the back-office computing infrastructure.

The Role: Data and Analytics Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Data and Analytics Manager to lead our data strategy and drive data-driven decision-making across the firm. As a key member of the IS team, you will be responsible for overseeing the collection, analysis, and interpretation of data to uncover actionable insights and support business growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a team of data analysts, providing guidance, mentorship, and support to foster their professional development.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive data analytics strategies to identify trends, patterns, and insights that drive business value and inform strategic decision-making.
  • Collaborate closely with stakeholders across all departments to understand their data requirements, translate business needs into analytical objectives, and deliver tailored data-driven solutions.
  • Work with clients to understand their specific needs, provide insightful data analysis, and cultivate strong relationships based on trust and value.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in a Data Analytics, Business Intelligence (BI), or Insights role at a senior level, demonstrating a deep understanding of data analysis methodologies and best practices.
  • Experience managing and leading a team of data professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performing work environment.
  • Strong proficiency with data analytics tools and technologies, particularly Power BI, and a demonstrated ability to leverage these tools to generate actionable insights.
  • A solid understanding of statistical analysis, machine learning, or predictive modeling techniques, enabling you to apply advanced analytical methods to complex business challenges.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to accuracy.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, allowing you to effectively convey data insights to both technical and non-technical audiences.
