Position Overview

Light Commercial Vehicle Specialist

Location: Preston - Basic Salary: £36,000 plus performance bonus

Working Hours: Monday to Friday - 40 hours per week.

We are looking for a proficient and knowledgeable Vehicle Specialist to become part of our client's service team in Preston. Our client focuses on fleet management, dealing with various light commercial vehicles such as transits and sprinters. The ideal candidate will be tasked with diagnosing, repairing, and servicing a diverse range of vans.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and rectify vehicle malfunctions, including engine, transmission, brake, suspension, and electrical systems
  • Conduct regular maintenance activities, such as oil changes, tire rotations, and brake checks
  • Utilize diagnostic equipment and software to troubleshoot and resolve intricate issues
  • Maintain precise documentation of all services performed and parts utilized
  • Engage with clients regarding vehicle concerns and repair suggestions
  • Ensure a tidy and systematic workspace
  • Stay informed about the latest advancements in automotive technology and repair methodologies

Qualifications:

  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification
  • A minimum of 1 year’s experience in a vehicle technician role
  • Proficient in using diagnostic tools and software
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Exceptional communication and customer service skills
  • Valid driving license
