About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Pharmacy Technician to join our team at HMP Portland, working in partnership with Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a vital role in supporting the delivery of pharmacy services, working closely with patients and healthcare professionals to promote health and well-being.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the delivery of pharmacy services, including medicine management, dispensing medications, and patient counselling.
  • Work collaboratively with the healthcare team to promote health and well-being among patients.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of pharmacy services, ensuring they meet the needs of patients and the prison service.
  • Provide excellent patient care, adhering to NHS AfC standards and guidelines.
Requirements
  • NVQ level 3 Pharmacy Services or equivalent.
  • Registration with GPhC as a pharmacy technician.
  • Excellent organisational skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Desirable: Working towards Accredited Checking or MM Technician Certificate, some understanding of mental illness and substance misuse and their treatment.
