Priory Adult Care is seeking an experienced and forward-thinking Chef to join our team on weekends at Orchid Lawns in Bedfordshire.

This is a bank role to work weekends - shifts are 7.00am – 14.30pm.

Orchid Lawns is a 24-bedded care home designed for older people with dementia. The home provides a specialist dementia nursing service, working in partnership with Central Bedfordshire PCT and Local Authorities.

As a Chef, you will be responsible for planning, preparing, and presenting high-quality food and hospitality for our residents. Your duties will include:

  • Assisting the Home Manager with menu creation, ensuring a nutritious and varied menu is available.
  • Ensuring all food preparation meets the requirements of COSHH, Food Safety, and Health & Safety regulations.
  • Managing food budgets and stocks, checking deliveries as required and placing them in the appropriate storage areas.
  • Ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene are maintained in all areas of the kitchen.
  • Overall kitchen staff management, training, recruiting, and rotas.

We are looking for a confident individual with a creative flair, someone who has relevant experience in a similar-sized kitchen and qualifications in food hygiene, prep, and cookery. This challenging role promises good onward progression for the successful applicant.
