Maintenance Technician Job Description

PE Global is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team at our industrial manufacturing client in Peterborough. This is a 12-month contract opportunity.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Respond to equipment breakdowns and conduct repairs using fault-finding techniques and various tools.
  • Perform maintenance, repair, and installation of new equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Follow standard work procedures and use hand power tools and lifting equipment provided.
  • Collaborate with a diverse team, including peers, engineers, and external contractors.
  • Conduct improvement and root cause investigation projects and present findings to the team and management.
  • Support apprentices and coworkers in their development.
  • Balance workload and priorities to meet business needs.
  • Ensure a safe working environment by adhering to health and safety standards.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Requirements:
  • Candidates with electrical and mechanical backgrounds are preferred, with experience in both areas.
  • Full engineering apprenticeship or equivalent qualification, such as NVQ level 3 or relevant experience.
  • Ability to perform proactive maintenance and suggest improvements.
  • Thorough knowledge of maintenance processes, tools, and equipment, as well as familiarity with materials and quality objectives.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and schematic diagrams.
Desirable Qualifications:
  • Boiler Management Certification
  • 19th Edition Electrical Training
  • Forklift Truck Training
