Job Title: Clinical Nurse Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our team at York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and support to individuals with metastatic urology cancer.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cancer nursing and experience in working with patients with metastatic disease. They will be able to work autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team to deliver safe and effective care.

The Clinical Nurse Specialist will be responsible for:

  • Providing patient-centered support and education to individuals with metastatic urology cancer
  • Developing and implementing care plans to meet the individual needs of patients
  • Working collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality care
  • Participating in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes

The successful candidate will have:

  • Experience in cancer nursing and working with patients with metastatic disease
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
  • Knowledge of current issues in healthcare and research-based practice

Person Specification

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience at Band 5 or equivalent in a specialty, preferably cancer, palliative care, or urology
  • Experience of undertaking audit and standard setting
  • Understanding of the local and national nursing agenda
  • Understanding of relevant national service frameworks and national guidance
  • Understanding of research-based practice
  • Knowledge of current issues in healthcare
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
