About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Clinical Specialist Nurse to join our mental health team at HMP Millsike, a brand new Category B men's prison. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in shaping and developing our mental health services, working closely with a multidisciplinary team of professionals to assess, plan, and provide patient care.

Main Responsibilities
  • Assess and plan patient care, working collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team
  • Develop and implement evidence-based practice, ensuring high professional standards of nursing
  • Lead on professional development and the delivery of robust evidence-based practice
  • Ensure high-quality patient care, adhering to clinical risk assessment and management principles
  • Contribute to quality improvement activities, ensuring continuous professional development

Person Specification
  • Current Professional Registration with Nursing and Midwifery Council - RMN / RNLD/ RGN (RNSC - CAMHS Only)
  • Recognised Practice Assessor/Practice Supervisor or currently in progress of achieving
  • Trained in Clinical Supervision and providing Clinical Supervision or in the process of achieving
  • Postgraduate diploma in a subject relevant to the area or be willing to work towards and achieve within 2 years
  • Within the first year of being in post hold a recognised qualification in a governed therapy/advanced clinical qualification e.g., Intermediate Systemic Family Therapy/Post Grad diploma in CBT/British Isles Dialectical Behaviour Therapy/NMP (Independent Prescriber)
  • Significant experience working with patients with complex needs in the specialist field
  • Significant experience working with patients who display risk behaviours
  • Clinical risk assessment and management and its application in practice
  • Quality improvement activities
