Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Warehouse Operations Manager to join our team at Wincanton. As a key member of our site management team, you will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the warehouse operation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of warehouse colleagues and administrators to achieve consistent Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and deliver high-quality customer service.
  • Work closely with peers to optimize performance, manage resources, and control customer orders, inbound and outbound loading and unloading of vehicles.
  • Develop and implement effective working procedures, ensuring regular reviews to maintain effectiveness.
  • Manage the day-to-day operations, ongoing development, and motivation of a team of warehouse colleagues.
  • Identify and implement process improvements, introducing best practices within the site.
  • Ensure the consistent achievement of KPIs and deliver high-quality customer service.
  • Accountable for the personal health and safety of all colleagues, adhering to safe working practices at all times.
  • Develop a positive culture to promote health and safety and environmental responsibilities.
  • Champion the company and customer vision and values.
  • Build excellent working relationships with customer representatives.

Requirements:

  • Excellent command of the English language, including comprehension, verbal, and written ability, and excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in a warehouse environment, including a detailed understanding of warehouse management systems, PC literacy, and experience in using spreadsheets and databases.
  • Drive, forward thinking, energy, and a commitment to continuous improvement of overall contract performance.
  • Experience of health and safety regulations in a warehouse environment, including the ability to carry out investigations with root causation and actions to correct.
  • Experience in dealing with employee relations issues, disciplinary and grievance procedures, time management, and absence management.
  • Ability to work under pressure and be flexible in approach.
  • Ability to work independently, meeting strict deadlines and prioritizing workloads.
  • Attention to detail is essential, as is the ability to analyze data and make recommendations.
  • Customer-focused with the ability to build effective relationships with the team, client, and other third parties.
  • Enthusiastic, committed, and able to respond positively to changing demands.
  • Excellent customer relationship skills with the ability to develop good working relationships at all levels.
