Role Overview
UCEM is embarking on a significant project to implement a new Student Support System, which is essential for managing student inquiries and support effectively. This initiative aims to replace the existing system and enhance overall student experience.
A Project Manager is sought to spearhead this initiative, define its scope, formulate a comprehensive plan, and ensure successful execution. The Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing all facets of the project, including technical implementation, process evaluation, training, communication strategies, and change management, with the assistance of a Project Coordinator.
Initially, the project will demand full-time commitment, tapering off as the plan progresses, allowing the contractor to engage in additional projects. The resource allocation will be coordinated with the Director of Strategy & Planning and the Director of Technology.
- Formulate project specifications, plans, budgets, and resource allocations.
- Guide UCEM to ensure project objectives are achieved.
- Identify and mitigate project risks and challenges.
- Establish robust project governance and manage the Project Board.
- Oversee supplier relationships and performance metrics.
- Prepare staff and students for transitions associated with the new system.
- Ensure adherence to quality management processes and documentation standards.
- Report on project progress to senior leadership.
- Supervise the contributions of the Project Coordinator.
- Align the project with UCEM's operational processes and procedures.
- Contribute to the enhancement of UCEM's project management capabilities.
Qualifications Required
Essential:
- Proven experience in system implementation and change management projects.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies.
- Ability to manage technical teams and supplier engagements.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Teams, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Experience in leading projects, engaging stakeholders, and presenting strategic initiatives to senior management.
- Skilled in creating project documentation for diverse stakeholders.
- Exceptional leadership and communication abilities.
- Experience in remote project management and budget oversight.
Desirable:
- Experience in higher education or public sector projects.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics, SQL, and Tribal SITS applications.
- Project management certification (Agile, PRINCE2, APM).
