Lead Designer for Brand & Communications

Permanent Position

Location: London

Salary: £85,000 + benefits and bonus

Working Model: Hybrid

An exceptional opportunity has arisen within a prestigious global law firm recognized among the elite in the industry. The firm is expanding its London design team and is in search of a Lead Designer to enhance their Brand & Communications division. This permanent position requires a highly experienced corporate designer capable of implementing fundamental design principles across intricate, strategic initiatives, aimed at pushing the creative boundaries through the upcoming year.

In this crucial role, you will oversee multiple design projects concurrently, providing creative leadership and making essential design choices that will define the firm's visual representation.

This role offers a hybrid working arrangement (2 or 3 days per week from home), an impressive benefits package, and a competitive starting salary around £85,000.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Initiate design projects by collecting vital information, crafting effective design solutions, and clearly illustrating how these designs fulfill the needs of internal stakeholders.
  • Coordinate project workflows and communications to ensure timely delivery.
  • Advise internal clients and teams on the application of brand guidelines, contributing to their development, and creating templates and new visual components for the brand.
  • Assist in building high-quality image asset libraries that align with brand guidelines and are utilized across all firm communications.
  • Apply core design principles to strategic projects that conform to brand standards and guidelines.

The ideal candidate will exhibit strong design capabilities, including expertise in typography (kerning, leading, tracking), hierarchy, color application, grids, layout, photography selection, and accessibility. Additionally, proficiency in designing for both digital and multimedia projects, as well as traditional print design, is essential.

Essential qualifications for this role include a bachelor's degree in graphic design or a related field, experience as a designer in a professional services or business-to-business context, and familiarity with digital asset management systems, email marketing systems, digital and social marketing, and UX principles.
