Job Summary

The Commonwealth of Virginia is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Parking Compliance Officer to join our team. As a Parking Compliance Officer, you will be responsible for enforcing parking regulations on our campus, ensuring the safety and security of our students, faculty, and staff.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and issue parking citations to vehicles in violation of University parking codes.
  • Install wheel-locks and provide motorist assistance as needed.
  • Assist with special events, including planning and coordinating parking arrangements.
  • Monitor parking lots for potholes and damaged signs, reporting any issues to maintenance.
  • Provide customer service to students, faculty, and staff, answering questions and resolving parking-related issues.
  • Work rotating shifts, including evenings, nights, and weekends, to ensure 24/7 parking enforcement.
  • Collaborate with University Police to ensure a safe and secure parking environment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; considerable experience in customer service and security preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and make sound judgments in high-pressure situations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse groups.
  • Valid driver's license and good driving record required.
  • Ability to lift 10 pounds and work in various weather conditions.

Working Conditions

This is a full-time position that requires working in a fast-paced environment with frequent exposure to the outdoors. The successful candidate will be required to work rotating shifts, including evenings, nights, and weekends, and may be required to work in inclement weather.
