Research Scientist in Computational Fluid Dynamics and Combustion

We are seeking a highly skilled Research Assistant/Associate in Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) and Computational Combustion to join our team at Newcastle University. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and delivering research outcomes in CFD and computational combustion, with a focus on swirl stabilised hydrogen premixed flames.
Key Responsibilities- Design and deliver research outcomes in CFD and computational combustion
- Conduct experiments and simulations to investigate the behaviour of swirl stabilised hydrogen premixed flames
- Develop and implement computational models to predict the behaviour of swirl stabilised hydrogen premixed flames
- Collaborate with industry experts and PhD students to advance the field of CFD and computational combustion
- Present research findings at local and international conferences
- PhD in a relevant field (e.g. CFD, computational combustion, mechanical engineering)
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to network and influence
- Experience with CFD software and computational models
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
