About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Social Worker to join our Fostering Team in Gateshead. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in supporting children and families in need.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough assessments of potential foster carers and prepare reports for fostering panels.
  • Match children with suitable foster carers and oversee the placement process.
  • Work collaboratively with other professionals, including social workers, health professionals, and educators, to ensure the well-being of children in foster care.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, policies, and procedures related to fostering and child care.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of assessments, placements, and ongoing support.
Requirements
  • Qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England.
  • Proven experience in a social work role, preferably within fostering or children's services.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with foster carers, children, and professionals.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and procedures related to fostering and child care.
