Job Summary:

Carrington West's Property & Building Control division is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Building Surveyor to join our team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing expert building surveying services to our clients and internal stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, plan, coordinate, supervise, and project manage building schemes to ensure they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
  • Provide clear and concise technical advice to clients on building surveying matters, taking into account current legislation and relevant framework parameters.
  • Prepare specifications and contract documents to enable projects to be tendered, providing advice on appropriate construction contracts.
  • Prepare and submit building regulation and planning applications, and monitor and deal with them as necessary through discussions with relevant authorities.
  • Assess tenders and make recommendations to clients by providing a detailed tender analysis.
  • Act as Project Manager on projects, attending site for Pre-Start and Project Meetings, and ensuring that acceptable quality standards of workmanship and performance are achieved.
  • Supervise works on site, authorizing payments to contractors accordingly, and ensuring that all necessary documentation is completed and submitted on time.
  • Familiarity with computerized administrative, reference, and Building Control management systems.
  • Full and detailed knowledge/understanding of both traditional and modern construction techniques.

Requirements:

  • Chartered Building Surveyor with a proven track record working within a multi-disciplinary consultancy.
  • Excellent technical knowledge and skills in building surveying, with a strong understanding of current legislation and relevant framework parameters.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to provide clear and concise technical advice to clients.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong focus on delivering high-quality results.
  • Familiarity with computerized administrative, reference, and Building Control management systems.
