A top main contractor is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor with expertise in M&E packages (NEC 3) to their Commercial Team to work on the Network Rail Station. The main contractor is seeking an experienced M&E Quantity surveyor to oversee a new major station on behalf of Network Rail. Due to a recent contract award, our client is looking to build in a specialist M&E Quantity Surveyor to manage a portfolio of mechanical & electrical and public health packages, working in alignment with the wider organisation and commercial team delivering the civil engineering packages.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Quantity Surveyor with M&E experience to take a step up to a Senior QS Role or a Senior QS to take on a new challenge and join a major main contractor or a prestigious project.

Location: Cambridge South Station

Region: London M&E Senior Quantity Surveyor - Leading Main Civil Engineering Contractor - 8m (M&E Package).

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Reporting into the Commercial Manager

Key Duties will include:

Presentation of all applications for payment, including all contractual entitlements.

Ensuring that payments are received in accordance with the contract terms.

Submission of estimate / tendering information to the client.

Presentation of Final Accounts, including negotiation of all contractual entitlements.

Presentation of weekly cost / value information, delivery schedules and associated Key Performance Indicator (KPI) data.

Preparation and presentation of Monthly Cost/Value Reconciliations and Final Cost/Value Forecasts.

Preparation and presentation of forward work schedules and cash flows.

Financial and commercial management of Sub-contractors through to settlement of their Final Accounts.

Preparation of appropriate documentation in support of additional payment, variations, claims etc.

Commercial support to the site and contracts management team as well as estimating and procurement

Close liaison with the client on all commercial matters, including preparation and submission of supporting information.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Formal qualification in relevant field- HNC/HND or Degree in relevant discipline

i.e. Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management etc.

Must have experience with M&E packages- you do not need prior experience in rail sector as you will be provided training and coaching to learn the specifics.

Experience with NEC 3, M&E civil engineering and building.

Must be able to show a proven background as a Quantity Surveyor, preferably within a contracting environment and have NEC experience.
