Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Planning Officer to join our team at Essential Employment. As a key member of our planning department, you will be responsible for providing expert advice and guidance on a range of planning matters, including Minerals and Waste policy, development management, and Nationally Significant Infrastructure Projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide timely, clear, and effective professional advice to stakeholders on planning matters, including policy development, development management, and project delivery.
- Assist with the development and implementation of planning strategies and policies, including the Minerals and Waste Local Plan.
- Work closely with colleagues to provide technical input and support for planning projects, including NSIPs.
- Monitor and review planning policies and procedures to ensure compliance with relevant legislation and regulations.
- Formulate responses to planning applications, including NSIPs, and provide strategic planning input to the preparation of Local Plans.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to align delivery of infrastructure through Local Plans, the Community Infrastructure Levy, and section 106.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in planning policy development and implementation.
- Strong technical knowledge of planning legislation and regulations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
