About the Role:

We are seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils aged 4-19 with severe and complex learning disabilities. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a difference in the lives of students with profound and multiple learning disabilities (PMLD), working in a supportive and dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide tailored support to students with complex learning needs, helping them engage with the curriculum and develop essential life skills.
  • Assist in the use of hoisting and other mobility aids to support pupils with physical needs.
  • Participate in feeding, personal care, and hygiene routines for students requiring additional assistance.
  • Implement and support individualised education plans (IEPs) in collaboration with the teaching staff and other specialists.
  • Foster a nurturing, inclusive environment that promotes student well-being, safety, and emotional development.
  • Work closely with teachers, therapists, and other professionals to deliver a comprehensive, multidisciplinary approach to learning.

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Experience working with children and young people who have severe and complex learning disabilities, including PMLD.
  • Familiarity with hoisting and other mobility aids.
